Make green savings - details

Here are the possible annual savings with the current average energy purchase and injection rates for an average house (15 solar panels).

  • 0€ without automation
  • Up to €1015 with automation through the intelligent socket easyPLUG
  • Up to €215 with optimization via the consumption indicator easyCOLOR
  • Up to €1229 with 1 easyPLUG + 1 easyCOLOR

... and even more if you have more panels or multiple easyPLUGs.

Depending on your contract, meter, and situation, the figures may vary higher or lower.

The following sources were used to calculate the table:

  • EV: Field data - Flanders - 4-person household - 70 kWh. WFH 4/7 days - 15000 km/year - easyPLUG - Measured with Home Assistant
  • Boiler Smart Grid: Field data - Flanders - 4-person household - Atlantic V3 + easyPLUG - Measured with Home Assistant
  • Average electricity purchase price: €0.60/kWh

    Taxes and rates

In addition to energy savings, you also save on certain taxes and rates that are reduced based on your self-consumption.

    Flanders:

    • No/little compensation for injection. The above table applies.
    • Additionally, a new capacity fee has been in effect since January 1, 2023. Surcharge ranging from €50 (low peak demand) to €500 (EV fast charging).
    • Test the impact yourself with this XLS file or here.
    • With easyCOLOR, you can see and avoid peaks in real time (for example, during cooking, if easyCOLOR turns red, you simply need to reduce cooking a bit, and easyCOLOR will turn green or yellow, avoiding a peak).
    • The easyPLUG automatically shifts your consumption to the right moments (injection/low consumption) and thus reduces your average peak.

    Brussels:

    • No/little compensation for injection. The above table applies.

    Wallonia:

    • Reduction of the prosumer rate once you consume more than 37.76%.
    • If you have a digital meter, and for all new installations from 2024 onwards, the compensation system is no longer in effect. The above table then applies.
